Show skating is about performing, entertaining the audience, developing self-expression, storytelling, teamwork, and showing the best version of yourself without a competitive element! Entertainment on Ice Academy Entertainment on Ice focuses on show skating. It’s all about performing and entertaining the audience, because figure skating is simply beautiful to watch, and that’s what Entertainment on Ice is all about.
For whom?
The Entertainment on Ice Academy was created for figure skaters who want to participate in ice shows but don’t know how to get there or haven’t developed the necessary skills to become a show skater.
From personal experience, founder Madelene van Beuzekom knows that becoming a professional show skater is not easy. As the only Dutch skater, Madelene performed between 2005 and 2011 in various international ice show productions, such as Holiday on Ice. Before that, Madelene competed in figure skating and wasn’t prepared for how tough life as a professional artist can be, how it works when you join an ice show, or even how to get into one in the first place. And that’s exactly what she now wants to change for young figure skaters today, so that more skaters in the Netherlands can make the transition to show skating and continue pursuing their passion even after their competitive careers are over.
Once high school is completed, an important phase begins in the life of a young adult, during which choices need to be made, such as the decision to pursue further studies. Many skaters stop competing at this stage in their lives and are searching for a new purpose within their sport passion. Quit or continue? Many skaters will recognize this dilemma.By participating in the Entertainment on Ice Academy Performance Camps or Masterclasses, you can explore whether the ice show world is right for you and discover if it’s the path you want to pursue.

Performance Camp
Entertainment on Ice organizes at least once a year a Performance Camp in the Netherlands. This is specifically for figure skaters who want to become better performers and learn specific skills to become a professional show skater, with the goal of auditioning for ice show productions worldwide.
The Performance Camp is a three-day boot camp packed with various workshops on and off the ice. These include performance skills to music, edge class, and show tricks, as well as theater, dance, and off-ice show tricks workshops. Want a Performance Camp at your ice rink? Get in touch with us!
Performance workshop
A Performance Workshop by Entertainment on Ice focuses entirely on performance skills. Skaters become better performers for ice shows, but it also benefits them if they are still competing. The workshop can take place in a group setting or individually. The workshops are taught by international ice show professionals with years of experience. A workshop can be booked per hour, and we are happy to tailor it to your needs. Get in touch!
